Who would like to go on an adventure?
We all like to act a little foolishly sometimes so I’m organising a trip to Westport Co. Mayo on Wednesday 1st April 2020!
It will be for 2 nights bed & breakfast and one evening meal at the Castle Court Hotel (with Spa). We will catch the 10.35 Enterprise which will arrive in Dublin at 12.40, where we will have a couple of hours to have lunch and get across Dublin to Heuston station. We will then catch the 14 .45 train to Westport, where we will arrive at 17.54. Then after a short walk to our Hotel, we check in and maybe have a quick swim in the spa pool or a wee drink.
That evening I suggest we find our own choice of restaurant for our evening meal subject to how many decide to go on the Adventure.
Thursday after breakfast is your choice: you can explore the town and harbour; go on a boat trip to the islands; view Westport house (a mansion); or visit the museum. I think they may even have an Art Gallery (that will please Pat) and in the evening we will all have dinner together in the the hotel restaurant where we can share our thoughts on our day in Westport.
Friday morning, after breakfast we can do last minute shopping, take a quick look at that place that some one told you about the night before that you had missed. Check out and head for the train station.
We will be catching the 13.10 to Dublin Heuston which will arrive at 16.27 where again we have a couple of hours to have a meal and get across to Connolly for the 19.00 to Belfast. We will arrive in Belfast just after 9 O’clock where we can get our bus / train home and dream about our April fool Adventures.
And so to the cost,
Train to Westport, nothing with a senior smart pass.
Hotel, 2 nights B&B and 1 evening meal, £85 per person sharing a twin/double room.
