Dine Out Reports

Academy Restaurant
Thursday 16 February 2023
The Academy restaurant proved to be one of the nicest restaurants we have been to. We were served each course very professionally by our waitresses. The starter was salmon and caviar followed by a Chinese inspired duck salad, after which we cleaned our palette with a lemon and champagne sorbet.
The main course was “Grandma’s chicken”, followed by truffles and champagne marmalade for swee. Petit fours were served with the coffee to round off a meal beautifully presented by the young chefs who came round to talk to us afterwards.
To round of a lovely evening we caught the 300 bus which broke down on the way home (Headlights blew a fuse or something) so we had to wait half an hour for the next bus to catch us up and transfer onto it and take us on to Templepatrick. As the photograph shows we were all terribly disappointed!

Barge Restaurant
Thursday 16 January 2020
Another pleasant evening Fine Dining, this month 10 of us went to The Barge on the Lagan at Lanyon plaza Belfast. We had a great night and no-one suffered from “mal de mer”.
The speciality was “Boxty” either vegetarian or fish which was very much enjoyed by all that had it.
Looking forward to next month and the Acadamy Restaurant at the Ulster University.
